Check out this post from Engadget demonstrating the ‘Flexible PaperPhone’. A phone you can navigate by bending it out of shape.
Aside from the physical advantages a phone like this could offer – waterproof and resilient to the droppers amongst you – I do wonder just how flexible it is. I’d expect to see numerous YouTube videos putting it through its paces.
This is a really interesting concept and something I’d love to get my hands on but it does pose a number of questions about its usability. How would you use it one-handed for instance? This sort of user interface involves learning and encouraging users to change their behaviour so whilst I can’t see a bend-based UI storming the globe for a phone, I can appreciate the innovation.
