UX Roundtable held Tuesday 28 February, Foolproof, London
In February we held our second UX Leadership Roundtable. We invited UX leaders from banking, telecommunications, gaming and FMCG for a lively discussion around the digital multi-channel challenge.
Thanks to everyone who tuned in for my webinar ‘The Brand Experience Gap’. I’ve had great feedback from and discussions with those who attended.
I wasn’t able to answer all the questions during the webinar so here’s my answers to those questions I didn’t get to.
In December, I’ll be hosting a webinar on the experience gap between brand promise and brand reality and how UX strategy will enable global, multi-channel organisations to survive and thrive in a connected world.
I’ll be presenting some of our learnings and thoughts plus our vision for how the future winners in brand will be the ones who master customer experience through strategic experience planning.
I’m delighted to announce the launch of a new section of our website called User Experience Strategy.
It is a business requirement which our global clients are finding themselves increasingly exposed to as they look to move beyond optimisation to creating unified digital customer experiences, which protect and build financial performance and brand value.
It was with some pleasure I read this week’s Marketing Week cover story by Mark Choueke and Michael Barnett’s ‘Customer is King’ on the new marketing battleground: customer experience.
Next up, Lou Rosenfeld on the folly of big redesign projects.
The big idea here is that a design is only right at a moment in time and that the challenge is to be wrong or irrelevant for the shortest possible time. It’s about creating the conditions for continuous improvement.
If indeed in Lou’s words “everytime you redesign, God kills a kitten”, then the pet cemetary must be reaching capacity!
Just finished listening to Alan Cooper’s excellent presentation, “It’s all us” on creating the model or “balanced” team for software development. It’s interesting that his opening talk was primarily about vision, organisational design and culture rather than design process.
Following on from Mara and Elsa’s presentation to UCL students last week, we invited the same students to visit us in our London office as part of Foolproof’s World Usability Day activities.
Congratulations to the new Committee!
The election results are now in and unfortunately I’ve missed out on the Vice President role. Thanks to everyone who voted and showed their support for me and the other candidates! It was a fun campaign.
As you may be aware, I’m running for Vice President of the UK Usability Professionals’ Association (UK UPA). For those of you unfamiliar with the UPA, it’s the global professional body which supports people working in user experience. The UPA was established in 1991 and has 50 chapters around the world.
