I joined W3C in 1995 working for 6 years on the formation of guidelines for HTML, CSS, RDF and WAI. I worked with some of the cleverest people around, lectured in the UK and US and authored and contributed to a number of technical publications. I’m also immensely proud of having contributed 3 entries to Roger’s Profanisaurus in 1998 and they are still there.
I’ve been hanging around at Foolproof for a number of years now. In the last couple of years I have conducted user experience research for major clients around the globe, covering 4 continents and earning a lot of air miles. All this has confirmed to me the importance of understanding cultural differences in the approach to online selling and purchasing processes.
In what little time I have to myself I collect cinematography equipment from the 1930’s, and have a passion for cabinet making and social inclusion. There is nothing more satisfying in life than a hand-carved, tight fitting dovetail joint and supporting those that need most help.
