People are fascinating and I love to know how things work; people, systems, technology, which is why I do this job, and it all started with an Ergonomics degree at Loughborough Uni.
On my way to the internet front line here at Foolproof I did a stint in the automotive world as an interaction designer for the driver information systems at Land Rover and Jaguar, I also built cars in Ford’s virtual manufacturing centre, yep - a virtual job...
I’ve been in agency UX / Experience design for just over 5 years. It started in a small but significant usability agency with a wide range of industry sector clients. At Foolproof I’ve just completed 3 years as Principal consultant in the HSBC account enabling me to work around the world in all sorts of fascinating places meeting some brilliant people. I’m now heading up a core team working across all of the companies account teams as well as new client opportunities.
Outside of work I’ll either be getting dirty, getting sweaty, or both; I’m [still] renovating my house [it’s a big job!] using the 20 odd years of building knowledge I’ve inherited from my dad or I’ll be out running, cycling or training at the local boot camp. I’m also quite partial to the odd festival (music and beer varieties).
