After 5 years working as a Human Factors practitioner in the Great White North (Canada), I decided to move to Europe in 2001 to experience the varied cultures and languages. I brought with me my passion for human centred design and creating engaging interactions at work and play.
It all started in the 90’s with an Honours Bachelor’s and Master's degree in Ergonomics at Dalhousie University, exploring the design of bicycle saddles, keyboards and workstations - in order to optimise human performance. My passion for ‘optimising’ human interactions expanded its reach beyond the physical and cognitive, to include emotional, as well as creation of practical business solutions.
In order to be more effective in solving business problems, I completed an Executive MBA at Cass Business School, which saw me move to Head of Business Development and later Joint Managing Director at System Concepts Ltd. With over 15 years in the user experience industry, I joined Foolproof as the Experience Design Director providing strategic direction to some of the biggest brands in consumer electronics, FMCG and healthcare.
Now the Managing Director at Foolproof I am taking my passion for people to focus on attracting and developing some of the best talent in our industry; nurturing Foolproof’s culture for inspiration, collaboration and creativity; and providing the quality insights and business outcomes our clients demand.
When not working with my colleagues, you can find me at UXPA and industry events, enjoying the sights and sounds at the Barbican, studying Italian or running along London streets.
