As an Account Manager at Foolproof, my job is to build and maintain relationships with our clients, whilst ensuring that the end product we create meets their objectives and needs.
My day-to-day activities vary depending on the stage and type of projects I’m involved in. Whether I’m taking a client brief, mobilising and running live projects, attending client meetings, writing proposals or preparing for a pitch, I love that at Foolproof no one day is the same!
One of the things I particularly enjoy about my role is having the opportunity to work collaboratively with the design, strategy and delivery teams as well as external stakeholders and clients. I think every project workshop and meeting provides me with new ways to approach problems.
My relationship with the world of design has gone through various stages. Initially, I obtained a BA in Industrial Design from the Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia. After graduating I started working for a high-end furniture company where I learnt the technicalities of designing and producing tangible products whilst also getting the chance to get involved in the actual management of design projects.
This experience made me realise that I needed to broaden my perspective of design as a discipline, as a result I moved to the Netherlands to do a MSc in Strategic Product Design at Delft University of Technology. It was during these two years that I first heard about user experience and interaction design and its essential role in the creation of better products and services.
Before Foolproof I worked for five years as a project and account manager within the creative sector in London. This gave me the chance to get involved in cross-sector brand and design strategy projects.
Foolproof has provided me with the opportunity I was yearning for: I now get to work on product-based projects with customers at their heart.
Being of a mixed background and having lived in four different countries has made me an open-minded person who loves traveling around the world and learning about different cultures and languages.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring London, finding new food spots and going to the cinema. Music and art have always been a vital part of my life. I’m a keen concert-goer and I try to go to as many arts exhibitions as possible. I also love doing yoga or going to dance classes when I can!
